The man's brain is bigger,yes....but the woman's brain is more dense in nerves and vessels. Since it's smaller, less space for the blood vessels to roam around. So,our brains are better oxygenated and our cranial blood circulation is better. Also, we tend to use both of our lobes, thereas men tend to use one, more than the other. That's why we're better at multi-tasking than they are. In all truth, we function differently and our brains function differently. Men's lobes are more separated than ours. It's pretty much like we only have one "lobe".
Men and women are physically AND medically, anatomically different. We can't compare each other, it's stupid to do so. It's like you'd compare dogs to cats. Each of the animals has it's strong points and weak points to serve them, inidvidually, good. I'm sick of all this "competition" about who's superior than who and who's smarter than who and so on. I'm sorry, but your friend is indeed and ignorant idiot. The only thing I'd ask him to do is go, pick a f*ckin' book and READ!
Edit: By the way, women have more grey matter than the men. The white matter serves men as a shield for their brain. It's an evolutionary result, because men are more violent than women overall, and along their lives, they hit their heads more or get hit in the head (fights) and so on. We have more grey matter, and is more dense. If I remember well,we have about 20% to 40 % more grey matter than your average male?
But, men are better at spacial vizualisation and memory, also at logic and problem solving and finding solutions. Also, men are less sensitive than women and more practical. And they're better at seeing the bigger picture, than the details.
We're opposite from them. We're naturally more emotional, sensitive. We tend to be subjective in our thinking patterns. We tend to observe details, rather than the whole picture. Small things matter to us more than the big things (that's why we tend to notice and interpret everything our boyfriends say or don't say during a relationship, while they're not even aware of that). We do have better intuition and are much better at sensing the other's state of mind and guessing thoughts. We pick on on body language signals much better, and we actually do have that 6th sense thing guys like to tease us about so much. We're much better at reading minds and we're very receptive to everything and details.
I guess, all of these make us equal, in all reality.
