Question: -A lot cheaper -Everyone covered -still lower taxes for me? -reform on current health care policies -if you want to switch, YOU DON'T HAVE TO GO TO THE GOV PLAN!!! That the problems LIBS. Obama/Demos say that we can keep our own insurance, but if we want to leave, we have no other option other than GOV plan. That's opposite of freedom. And, if you have any brains at all, that exactly means in about 7-10 years all private insurance companies will be non existent. Canada/England went through the exact same thing. Maybe we should learn from their mistakes. OBAMA SUPPORTERS: I've read the bill. I love how he says you can keep your own insurance, but he never mentions your options if 'YOUR' insurance company goes out of business. This is just common sense on the power grab. Obama doesn't care about you.

Insurance companies won't offer you insurance because you will cost them more than you will pay for coverage more than likely. You are too big of a risk to them, even at a high monthly cost of coverage. Contact the maker of your insulin and apply for their patient assistance program. Do the same with the maker of your test strips. These companies will either sell it to you at a super discount or give it to you for free based on how much money you make. Also you can switch to Relimed, the Walmart brand strips and meters in the meantime, they are 50% less than the name brands. Right now most of the groups that offered free pump supplies to pumpers in need are not accepting applications for their services. There are ways to get cheaper infusion sets. You can order a generic brand from http://www.fifty50pharmacy.com/ which are much cheaper. You can also contact the makers of the infusion sets you are currently using and see if they offer any patient assistance programs. Just being diabetic will not get you SSI/disability. If you are able to work and don't have other complications from diabetes that make it impossible to work, you will never get approved. Plus the average time it takes to get approved now, even with good eligibility, is 3 to 4 years with 3 denials. Get on the phone and start calling the manufacturers of the products you use. Please don't skip insulin, you will just end up in the hospital with DKA and that will cost you a fortune!

In the UK (not England!), there are choices. Those who can afford it go private and those who can't use the NHS. Unfortunately, there are the Specialists who abuse the system. Consultants in their field of medicine have been known to use NHS facilities to treat private patients, so they were making bigger bucks using our state paid for equipment. Recently it was discovered that organs donated through our NHS were being "sold" to foreign patients while our own people stayed at the end of the line waiting. The more money you have the more you want it seems. Corruption in the Medical field is even worse in the States. You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours... My husband is a US citizen living here. He would be dead by now if he had stayed in the States as he needs so much medication and the costs there are too much for us. If it sticks in your craw so much to pay taxes for this, try to think on it as an investment for your own children and grandchildren 'cos you never know when they will need medical treatment they can't afford.

Call a health insurance broker that does business in your state. You don't necessarily need a plan that covers everything. But a high deductible plan in case you end up in the hospital facing 6-figure hospital bills. Then, just expect to pay the small stuff out of pocket. You can also layer in supplemental plans with a high deductible to help out.
