Question: Worth the read! "I'm 63 and Im Tired" by Robert A. Hall I'm 63. Except for one semester in college when jobs were scarce and a six-month period when I was between jobs, but job-hunting every day, I've worked, hard, since I was 18. Despite some health challenges, I still put in 50-hour weeks, and haven't called in sick in seven or eight years. I make a good salary, but I didn't inherit my job or my income, and I worked to get where I am. Given the economy, there's no retirement in sight, and I'm tired. Very tired. I'm tired of being told that I have to "spread the wealth" to people who don't have my work ethic. I'm tired of being told the government will take the money I earned, by force if necessary, and give it to people too lazy to earn it. I'm tired of being told that I have to pay more taxes to "keep people in their homes." Sure, if they lost their jobs or got sick, I'm willing to help. But if they bought McMansions at three times the price of our paid-off, $250,000 condo, on one-third of my salary, then let the left-wing Congress-critters who passed Fannie and Freddie and the Community Reinvestment Act that created the bubble help them with their own money. I'm tired of being told how bad America is by left-wing millionaires like Michael Moore, George Soros and Hollywood Entertainers who live in luxury because of the opportunities America offers. In thirty years, if they get their way, the United States will have the economy of Zimbabwe , the freedom of the press of China, the crime and violence of Mexico, the tolerance for Christian people of Iran, and the freedom of speech of Venezuela. I'm tired of being told that Islam is a "Religion of Peace," when every day I can read dozens of stories of Muslim men killing their sisters, wives and daughters for their family "honor"; of Muslims rioting over some slight offense; of Muslims murdering Christian and Jews because they aren't "believers"; of Muslims burning schools for girls; of Muslims stoning teenage rape victims to death for "adultery"; of Muslims mutilating the genitals of little girls; all in the name of Allah, because the Qur'an and Shari'a law tells them to. I'm tired of being told that "race doesn't matter" in the post-racial world of Obama, when it's all that matters in affirmative action jobs, lower college admission and graduation standards for minorities (harming them the most), government contract set-asides, tolerance for the ghetto culture of violence and fatherless children that hurts minorities more than anyone, and in the appointment of U.S. Senators from Illinois. I think it's very cool that we have a black president and that a black child is doing her homework at the desk where Lincoln wrote the Emancipation Proclamation. I just wish the black president was Condi Rice, or someone who believes more in freedom and the individual and less arrogantly of an all-knowing government. I'm tired of a news media that thinks Bush's fundraising and inaugural expenses were obscene, but that think Obama's, at triple the cost, were wonderful; that thinks Bush exercising daily was a waste of presidential time, but Obama exercising is a great example for the public to control weight and stress; that picked over every line of Bush's military records, but never demanded that Kerry release his; that slammed Palin, with two years as governor, for being too inexperienced for VP, but touted Obama with three years as senator as potentially the best president ever. Wonder why people are dropping their subscriptions or switching to Fox News? Get a clue. I didn't vote for Bush in 2000, but the media and Kerry drove me to his camp in 2004. I'm tired of being told that out of "tolerance for other cultures" we must let Saudi Arabia use our oil money to fund mosques and madrassa Islamic schools to preach hate in America, while no American group is allowed to fund a church, synagogue or religious school in Saudi Arabia to teach love and tolerance. I'm tired of being told I must lower my living standard to fight global warming, which no one is allowed to debate. My wife and I live in a two-bedroom apartment and carpool together five miles to our jobs. We also own a three-bedroom condo where our daughter and granddaughter live. Our carbon footprint is about 5% of Al Gore's, and if you're greener than Gore, you're green enough. I'm tired of being told that drug addicts have a disease, and I must help support and treat them, and pay for the damage they do. Did a giant germ rush out of a dark alley, grab them, and stuff white powder up their noses while they tried to fight it off? I don't think Gay people choose to be Gay, but I damn sure think druggies chose to take drugs. And I'm tired of harassment from cool people treating me like a freak when I tell them I never tried marijuana. I'm tired of illegal aliens being called "undocumented workers," especially the ones who aren't working, but are living

Yes sir I am. The problem is there are to many Americans wanting a free handout and the government is using those idiots to get elected so they can destroy our country. You are lucky to have seen America in the "good ole days" and I am sorry it is what it is today. I'm 33 and will fight socialism till my death and hope other young people see whats really going on. I completely understand your point of view and I believe your comments will help. Keep voicing your opinion. You are what I consider to be a true American. '

Your dad will not change simply because you move out. You are not responsible for your dad. He should have been responsible for YOU and wasn't. You deserve to have a life that is full and happy. You have worked hard to get an education and should be very proud of yourself. I am not sure why you think you would live on the streets if you left your father's home. I know you said that your aunt would not let you work there any longer should you take this other job, but if it pays well then won't you be able to find a place of your own? Do you have a friend that could share the expense of an apt. with you? Just start saving your money until you have enough to move out. Your aunt is saying she will fire you because you are cheap help for her. She will get over her anger. She should stop paying your dads expenses. He will NEVER get well and stop drinking if everyone in your family pays for his bills and housing. Why would he need to? You are NOT being selfish for wanting a better life. Just learn from your father's life and do not drink. Stay away from it and work hard and keep telling yourself this is so that you will have a brighter future. You seem to be an intelligent young woman, hard worker, and clear thinker. You can do and be anything you set your mind on. God will help you, but you have to take the first step and He will open doors for you. Do not let anyone make you feel guilty for seeking a better life. Do not feel guilty that you will not be able to care for your grandmother. She already has 3 caregivers...she doesn't need another one. Please take good care of yourself! God bless you abundantly and forever!

Your dad lost your mother and it didn't help him to see the light. The sad thing is, your mother didn't take you with her. If you'd been my child, we'd have left together. I'd never have left my precious angel [which is who you are] in a bad situation like that. Please find an Al-Anon chapter near you. They can help you more than you realize. You need to see that you need to take care of YOU. You need a family. I wish I could adopt you. Please find help through counseling and Al-Anon. You will never be sorry you did. I'm praying for you.

I'm 47, and have been tired of all of this for 28 years. But I guess that makes us backwoods, inbred, racist, intolerant jerks for not wanting to spread our hard earned money to support an invasion of our land, for wanting our government to do its job and secure our boarders, apply fair and reasonable taxation to all, and support our workers with legislation that doesn't penalize businesses that stay and employ Americans, instead of doing the opposite. To use our tax money wisely and rebuild our infrastructure, let our service men and women lose from their political constraints so they can get the job done and get home. As for drugs, why can a drunk driver get a manslaughter charge but someone on a controlled substance gets rehab. As to the carbon footprint, what a scam. I'm all for cleaning up the environment and for breathing clean air, but nature produces 500 times the carbon per day that humanity produces in a year, so should we eradicate nature to reduce the carbon footprint she leaves, I mean she couldn't possibly pay the fine, unless of course we strip mine her for her minerals. Mr. Hall I can fully agree with you about all the reasons to be tired. But sir there's just one problem with letting that tiredness overcome us. It means we've given up, on what America is, was, and could be again. It means we let them win without a fight, which is why they chose to deal with us this way. Wimps and worriers need big government to protect them from real men and women. They need a nanny state to comfort them when they can't find comfort in their own miserable existence. Barbed wire and Colt brought western civilization to this country. And lawyers and politicians are doing everything they can to get rid of the western civilization that made this land great to begin with.

it sounds to me you are afraid of change. but dear things happen for a reason; therefore, change is good. you are still young and you can still do the things you were doing, your eyes are more open you are now beginning to see your surroundings for what they are. so don't be so critical to what is going on in your life, it's just changing and hopefully for the better. accept it and embrace it because eventually you will become the person God wants you to be and thats the best part. if you have true friends they will still be your friends no matter what. and girl don't worry about a boyfriend, the way some men are today, make you glad you don't have to deal with drama because there are some woman who are going through some issues with their man. this is all part of growing up, you will be okay, just love yourself and what today is bringing you, don't look back because you can't change it, you can plan for the future, but that doesn't always go as planned as you already know. you are the author of the book of your life, so write.
