Question: I need to solve (or simplify) these problems for Accelerated Math by Sunday Night. Can you guys Help? (5x-y^7)^3 (s+t)^6 (4x+y^6)^3 (2a-b)^4 (p-r)^4 (b+c)^6 (a-4b)^4 Thanks alot. I know how to solve polynomials raised to the 3rd power I'm just not sure how to raise it to the 4th and 6th powers. ## Best Answers: How Do I solve these problems? Howard | 7 days ago
You have to put the power in every group in the parenthaseis, like for a example on the last one, it would be a^4 - 4b^4

1) Subtract 12x from each side -3x = 6 Divide each side by -3 x = -2 2) Simplify the parentheses part first. -2y - 6y + 3 = 6y - 4 Combine like terms -8y + 3 = 6y - 4 Subtract 6y from each side and subtract 3 from each side -14y = -7 Divide both sides by -14 and reduce. y = -7/-14 y = 1/2 Now try the others on your own. Remember you can always check your answer by replacing the variable with the answer you just got to see if you get a true equation. The best way to learn math is to do the problems yourself. 1) 9x=12x+6 Subtract 12x from both sides. You get -3x = 6. Divide both sides by -3. You get x = -2. 2) -2y-3(2y-1)=6y-4 Distribute the 3. You get -2y - 6y + 3 = 6y - 4 Combine like terms. -8y + 3 = 6y - 4 Subtract 6y from both sides: -14y + 3 = -4 Subtract 3 from both sides: -14y = -7 Divide by -14: y = 1/2 3) 10-(12+w)=w+5 Subtract 10 from both sides: - (12 + w) = w - 5 The - makes it -12 - w = w - 5 Add 5 to both sides: -7 - w = w Add w to both sides: -7 = 2w Divide by 2: w = -7/2 or w = -3 1/2 4) -2r-3(2r+4)= -11r Distribute: -2r - 6r -12 = -11r Combine like terms: -8r - 12 = 11r Add 8r to both sides: -12 = 19r Divide by 19: r = -12/19 5) 3s-9(s-2)=18s Distribute: 3s - 9s + 18 = 18s Combine like terms: -6s + 18 = 18s Add 6s to both sides: 18 = 24s Divide by 24: s = 18/24 or s = 3/4 6) 6p+(p-4)=4p Subtract 6p from both sides: p - 4 = -2p Subtract p from both sides: -4 = -3p Divide by -3: p = 4/3 or p = 1 1/3 Originally Answered: Does anyone know how to solve these problems? u should really learn to do ur own work my friend cheated and whens he got to highschool she failed her classes Emil
Why don't you at least attempt to solve some of the problems yourself. That's how you learn. By doing it yourself and not by asking someone else to do it for you.

10. D If someone else wins, that means Jeff does not win. Thus, P(Jeff does not win) = 1-P(Jeff wins) = 1-0.2 = 0.8 20. I do not know what sample the problem is referring to. 12. C (40+30+20)/(15+25+40+30+20) = 0.69 13. C (15 + 40) / (130) = .42 Originally Answered: Could someone please solve these statistics problems for me I tried but cannot solve them Thanks ?
