Question: I am worried about lung cancer because the form which she took for her first xray did say they would look for lung cancer .Shes a smoker and she has astma ,she has had a persistant cough for a couple of months now,she appears to be quite well other than the cough .If she has lung cancer do you think they would have told her or do they send you for a second xray to make sure before they tell you ?

If cancer were suspected, then the doctor would immediately have a CT or MRI done and possibly a biopsy of the suspicious tissue. Time is critical in cancer diagnosis, so there would not be any delay as you described. An x-ray alone presents no where near enough evidence to make a diagnosis of cancer. If cancer were suspected, there would be no second x-ray. It sounds more likely that the doctor is monitoring a different type of disease issue with your Mom. The x-rays could be related to her asthma or another respiratory condition.

Is it safe to use an electric blanket during pregnancy? The BabyCentre Editorial Team answers: Probably. You may have two concerns about using an electric blanket during pregnancy. First, there's the heat. Although some studies show that raising a pregnant woman's body temperature to 101 degrees F or higher for an extended period of time can increase the risk for miscarriage or neural tube defects (a birth defect involving an opening in the brain or spine of a fetus), other studies show no connection. Regardless, it's very unlikely that using a heated blanket would elevate your body temperature high enough to endanger your baby. Second, you may be concerned about the electricity used to heat the blanket. A 1986 study did find an increased incidence of miscarriage in women who used electric blankets and heated waterbeds. But several studies performed since then have not found a connection between electrically heated beds and miscarriage. You may want to remove an electric underblanket from your bed in late pregnancy in case your waters go at the start of labour.

I even have in no way heard approximately rub down chairs yet electric powered blankets can advance the physique's middle temperature that would nicely be risky for the toddler. what's greater often than not cautioned is which you swap the blanket on till now you get interior the mattress to heat it up and then turn it off once you get into mattress. by way of the time the mattress isn't heat from the blanket your physique would have warmed up the mattress and it only isn't risky to the toddler.

They would wait to confirm their suspicions, and to see what changes there are to the growth. Smokers, combined with having astma stand a better than average chance of having lung problems later in life. If it is cancer, hopefully they caught it while it's still operable and contained. Good luck to your mom.

The doctor isn't sure what is showing on the chest xray that is why your mom has to go for another test.

Return the two females to the store. There's a high chance they'll be bullied and harassed to death as they are outnumbered by the eternally-horny males! A 10g is a bit on the small side for breeding Guppies anyway. I would also see if you can trade them back for partial store credit and pick yourself up a master liquid water test kit (they can be pricey, but are worth every penny!). At only 2 weeks old it's likely your tank is still mid-way through the nitrogen cycle and if you get any kind of ammonia or nitrite spike, that can kill a fragile fancy Guppy! edit: DO NOT replace your filter media - that throws away any good bacteria that's growing that in itself will solve your ammonia problem (aka the nitrogen cycle). And chemicals only mask the problem, they don't fix it! Only partial water changes can dilute the ammonia (chemicals merely convert it to ammonium that can still be read as ammonia by some test kits). Read up on the nitrogen cycle!
