Question: I use to think that way, so I do get the point of view I actually had this brand of thinking for more than half my life. But no longer, love overcame me and changed me. But still my question remains Can you be both? If so how? I know what my justifications were but am curious to know others justifications and as well if you could add if you are Christian, Muslim or other or no religious affiliation at all whether Atheist, Gnostic, agnostic etc…. Thanks :D If you are Christian, Muslim or other could you please add scripture to support your justification, for or against THANKS! (you don’t have to but it would be helpful for the questions sake & I am one for studying, enlightment, correction and chastisement) I am asking because the whys for me are different for the whys of you or others - I dont think or understand everyone or thing but I sure do like trying to walk in the shoes of others, you should try it sometime it will be a refreshing change from biggotry yeah jackie that was my method of thinking also :D

One of the Ten Commandments states "You must not murder" (Exodus 20:13). Is the intentional termination of a pregnancy murder? Exodus 21:22&23 says, "And in case men should struggle with each other and they really hurt a pregnant woman and her children do come out but no fatal accident occurs, he is to have damages imposed upon him without fail according to what the owner of the woman may lay upon him: and he must give it through the justices. But if a fatal accident does occur, then you must give soul for soul." Here, even the accidental death of a fetus is to be repaid 'soul for soul'. The fetus, in God's eyes, is as valuable as a grown man. God views all of his creation has precious, he no doubt expects us to care for the wonderful gifts of life he gives to us. "For you yourself produced my kidneys; You kept me screened off in the belly of my mother. I shall laud you because in a fear-inspiring way I am wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, as my very soul is aware. My bones were not hidden from you when I was made in secret, when I was woven in the lowest parts of the earth. Your eyes saw even the embryo of me, and in your book all it's parts are down in writing, as regards the days when they were formed and there was not yet one among them." This scripture here shows that God knows each person even from the time they are an embryo. Even before it's parts are formed God has them all down in writing. So, I think it's clear from what the bible says that intental abortion is equal to murder in God's eyes. What about in cases where the mother's life is in danger? Well I have to get to work, if you want to discuss this further you can email me - agadally @ yahoo . com

You live in the age of the Internet-use it! My age is going to start to show, but you know it wasn't that long ago people had to pull all-nighters in libraries to find statistics and information to put together a research paper. You have all the information in the world at your fingertips, don't be lazy.

I am pro-choice, but MY choice would be pro-life. I don't have to stand up before God to be judged for anybody else but myself.

Well since no one is pro-abortion, I think everyone who is pro-choice is anti-abortion. No one wants an abortion, but it should be available to those who feel its the best option.

Of course you can. Nobody LIKES abortion. i dont think its a good thing. But I think its an unfortunate necessity for some women at this time, and I think that no matter what, a woman should have control over her body, not the government!

Try this as ammunition: Amendment IV (of the US Constitution) The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated, and no warrants shall issue, but upon probable cause, supported by oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. While this does not directly address the issue of personal privacy it could reasonably be assumed that the founding fathers intended to limit the ability of the govenment to interfere in the private affairs of the citizens. The right of the people to be secure "in their persons, houses, papers and effects" from searches without warrant implies that the government cannot violate a person's privacy without good reason. Common sense would seem to indicate that this would extend to a person's right to make personal medical decisions without govenment interference. Take the ball and run with it . . . . I hope you can at least make your teacher sweat a little as he attempts to counter your points. Good Luck!
