1.) 8x - (3x - 5) = 40 Eliminate parenthesis by multiplying each term in the parenthesis times -1 to get: 8x - 3x + 5 = 40, Combine like terms to get: 5x + 5 = 40, Subtract 5 from both sides to get: 5x = 35, Divide both sides by 5 to isolate (x) and get: x = 7 2.) 0.9 (2X + 8) = 20 - (x + 5), First we multiply each term times ten on both sides to eliminate any decimals to get: 9(2x + 8) = 200 - 10(x + 5), Eliminate parenthesis by using the distributive property to get: 18x + 72 = 200 - 10x - 50, Combine like terms to get: 18x + 72 = 150 - 10 x, Add 10x to both sides to get: 28x + 72 = 150, Subtract 72 from both sides to get: 28x = 78, Divide both sides by 28 to isolate (x) and get: x = 78 / 28, reduces to 39 / 14 3.) 1 / 6 (12t + 48) - 20 = -1 / 8 (24t - 144), Multiply each term on both sides times 48 (the common multiple of 6 and 8) to eliminate all fractions and get: 8(12t + 48) - 960 = -6(24t - 144), Eliminate parenthesis by using the distributive property to get: 96t + 384 - 960 = -144t + 864, Combine like terms on both sides to get: 96t - 576 = -144t + 864, Add 576 to both sides to get: 96t = -144t + 1440, Add 144t to both sides to get: 240t = 1440, Divide both sides by 240 to isolate (t) and get: t = 6 4.) y(y - 4) (y + 2) = 0 First we would set each multiplying term separately equal to zero to get: y = 0, y - 4 = 0, and y + 2 = 0, Now we solve each equation for (y) to get: y = 0, y = 4, y = -2

Most Democrats, statistically, are Christian. And white men are one of the largest demographics of the Democratic party. So, I hardly think Democrats hate white men and Christians. And I see no difference between this and Republicans blaming "liberals" or teh gays for everything under the sun. Not that it's justified, but it's hardly exclusive to Democrats.
