Look at the effect of the musicians' strike of 1942 and the impact it had on the recording industry and technology. This led to some early 'underground' musicological developments, as well.

Why Did They Do This? * Japan was losing in the Pacific o Last effort to turn around their fortunes * These crashes did extreme damage o One crash equal to ten firing missions * Suicide was completely new in warfare o The missions would take Americans by surprise # Agreed To a Five Point Oath * Must make loyalty his obligation * Must make prosperity his way of life * Must highly esteem military valor * Must have a high regard for righteousness * Must live a simple life # Reasons To Be a Kamikaze Pilot * In Japanese, kamikaze means “divine wind” o Was an honor to die for country o Was an honor to serve the emperor * One crashed plane could sink a ship o Became a hero if fifty people died there's more if u want to read on on the source page i provided, good luck on ur statement

You may also want to touch on or reference an older reference to "kamikaze," as WW2 was not the origin of the term in general--merely the origin of the term in reference to military aviation. The term originated as a reference to the storms that scattered the invading fleet of the Mongols under Kublai Khan in 1287 CE. The term came to be seen by the pilots as a measure of their devotion to the divine (i.e. the Emperor) and it would appear their hope in 1944-45 was to scatter the invading Americans as typhoons did the invading Mongols approximately 650 years prior to WW2.

I know that swing music was severely punished by the Nazi regime because not only it promoted the negative aspects (recklessness) of American culture but also most of its most recognized players were actually black. So this type of music has it all, racial hatred by the Nazis, lack of freedom to play or dance such music in those times etc. etc. I think it has a lot of info to offer and also remember that the movement was so strong that it reached the farther parts of Europe in a time the Nazis were burning books claiming the world had nothing to offer! Also, it really is cool and learning to dance swing music is a true challenge. Good luck on your thesis and I think this should be an interesting topic to discuss. I don't know if it opened the doors to newer movements such as jazz but it certainly opened the way to music globalization. Best Regards.

What you wrote isn't a thesis. Look here for the definition of a thesis: http://www.sdst.org/shs/library/thesis.h... You need to state what you intend to prove. What are you going to try to prove about how music affects the brain? Some suggestions: music helps people relax - what does it do to your brain to help you relax? Music can be a stimulant.
