The only strange thing is although  there may be a solution for ⅔ of a fancy goldfish we know that only an integer  number of fish are possible. Example 1:  So at [x=4] = 4 fancy goldfish  the maximum number of common goldfish that can be bought is:    y ≤ 20 − 3x    y ≤ 20 − 3(4)    y ≤ 8  ...  max number of common GF Example 2:  So at [y = 18] = 18 common goldfish  the maximum number of fancy goldfish that can be bought is:         y ≤ 20 − 3x  18 ≤ 20 − 3x     -2 ≤ -3x     ⅔ ≥ x ... divide by negative number reversed the inequality direction  x ≤ ⅔ ... reading the inequality backwards reversed the inequality direction (again) ... but ... as mentioned before, the answer for the maximum number of fancy goldfish that can be bought is ZERO in this case because it must be an integer.

Nobody is going to do your assignment for you! That would be cheating - and also completely pointless. If you have not understood how to do these problems, then you need to ask for help from your teacher (or parent if you are homeschooled). If someone else did these for you, it wouldn't be much use because you wouldn't understand the theory, and everyone would assume that you did - which would create more problems next time the same kind of thing came up. These aren't difficult... just take them one at a time, do what you can, and if you get stuck ask someone with you to explain again. Nobody minds explaining - the point of tests or assignments is to see what you actually know, not to get right answers.

ok properly what you're able to do first is multiply the three to the different area. you will get 2x<30. then you definitely divide 2 to the different area and get x<15 ... in reality, you think of the inequality sign is an equivalent except you're multiplying or dividing by a unfavorable because of the fact the sign will turn. which includes : 2x/-3 < 10 2x > -30 x > -15

For each of the equations, you can move the elements around. If you want to move a denominator to the other side, you multiply that side with it. For example, here, the denominator is 2. 1)     -x/2>=1 means     -x>=1*2     -x>=2 To get rid of the negative sign on one side, you should multiply both sides by -1. Because -1 is below zero, you should also change the sign to <=. Result:     x<=-2 which means X is less than or equal to -2. If you want to move any variable from A + B to the other side, you should subtract that element from the other side. So, 2)     (-x/3) + 1 >= 0 becomes     (-x/3) >= 0 - 1     (-x/3) >= -1 Let's move 3 (the denominator) to the other side as well.     -x >= (-1)*3     -x >= -3 If we multiply both sides by -1, (and change the "greater" to "lesser" because -1 is below zero)     x <= 3 Same rules apply for 3)     (-x/2) + 6 >= -8     (-x/2) >= -8 - 6     (-x/2) >= -14     -x >= (-14)*2     -x >= -28     x <= 28
