I'm always tired?

I'm always tired? Topic: I'm always tired?

Question: I'm a 14 year old girl and I usually sleep 4 hours on school nights. But on the weekends I sleep like 15-20 hours. But even after sleeping for 15 hours, I still feel physically tired and have no energy but to lay there all day. I usually have about 1200 calories per day but I eat a lot of fruit and veggies.

You sleep way too little at 'school nights'. You should sleep AT LEAST 7 hours, and that's pushing it. 8-10 hours is recommended. So your body basically compensate this lack of sleep on the weekends. Your body MUST have those hours of sleep. But here comes another 'problem'. If the body sleeps for more than 11 hours, it'll start getting sleepy again. So you shouldn't sleep for more than that or you'll lay at the bed with no energy all day. Sleep 8-9 hours everyday and your problem is solved :D Also, eat a little bit more. Good luck xD

Are you drinking caffeinated beverages during the day? It takes a while to hit your system and then when it does, it can affect you for 12 hours or longer. So if you're drinking something with caffeine around dinner time or maybe a little before then, it would make sense that by 8 pm you're wide awake again. I try not to drink caffeine after lunch unless there's a good reason for me to be up past midnight, like when I do work from home that late at night. It's really a vicious cycle. I used to drink caffeine to get me going in the day, not realizing how long it stays in my system. It affects sleep patterns too so even when I did get to sleep, I didn't have the deep sleep I needed to feel rested in the morning. Then I was drinking more caffeine to wake up again.

the instant it gets dark i am wide awake no matter how tired i was all day. we must be vampires. i have to make it a point to chose my classes according to when my mind wants to fall asleep. i have to avoid the 2-5pm classes unless they are in a really cold classroom. also the most intense brainpower classes i pick around 8:30-11am or after 5pm if they end by 8 or so. i also take a 120 mg ginko biloba capsul 45 minutes before all quizes and exams, with food. then i am a mental ninja, making a mockery of the exam and peers beneath me. this semester i completed 3 classes with over a 100% in the class. my point is that dont freak out when you figure out that something gets in your way. find a way to channel the problem parallel to a solution and use this ability to read how you function to make things happen for yourself while everyone else wipes out. i also use two different pills for sleeping, one is ambian. i take 5mg and it knocks me out quickly but i usually only sleep 5-6 hours then i wake up refeshed. i only take it when i need it. often, but not constantly. you have to get a Dr. for that. the next one is called Quiettude, its a homeopatic tablet. its over the counter. hard to find, so i usually order it online for about 10$ a box. its basically the same thing just not on the same level. and alot slower acting.

I'm the same way, ive been like this since high school and its never changed. You get used to it eventually or you can get sleeping pills. I just got used to it but if i desperately need sleep i'll take something to help me like benadril

Three thoughts... Could be taking in too few calories... A teenager tends to require more calories because of the puberty changes happening. Try to add another 400 calories to your average. You could be anemic. That means you have low iron counts. Very common amongst women, especially if they're eating a lot of fruit and vegetables without a lot of meat. That's usually accompanied by bags under your eyes and an extreme lack of energy. Lastly could be too much sleep. If you sleep a lot your metabolism will stay slow which will keep you tired. Maybe try to add some light exercise to your day to boost your metabolism. Do a few pushup and sit ups first thing in the morning to turn your body on and get it started.

I "hear You". BUT, the Reality IS; most people on Here- DON'T pay attention to WHAT they're Reading (even if they're smart enough to Understand the Question). AND- they're MORE Interested in giving You THEIR Opinion about what You Asked- than Answering Your Question! [ And as for the Whining about wanting to hear "good news..." -It's BUNK! People don't pay ANY Attention to "good news..." Because it's More FUN to complain about the "Bad", than celebrate the good fortune of someone Else... :( ]. So for THIS Reason, & many MORE- the War & the dying in Iraq, will GO ON, for at LEAST another Year... :(

The dumbest ingredient I heard suitable this second become on the relax keep. My entire got here to $11.01, and that i handed the cashier $21.01. She pronounced, "the twenty is adequate". i tried to describe to her that i could like a 10 dollar bill again, yet she become so at a loss for words, I in simple terms took the replace from the $20. P.S. you're a twin? Oh cool, what does your twin look like?
