June 16, 2019 / By Cherie Question:
I've had my Mac for ages and never used the mail application? Whenever i ask, Everyone tells me a different way, and someone told me to setup an account in www.me.com but i have to pay for that! and i already spend more than a thousand bucks for this laptop i dont want to pay even more to use the apps that's just a rip off! Can someone give me simple solution to this problem? What EXACTLY should I write in the POP and the outgoing mail server, EXACTLY what should I write (please say it like you're explaining to a 4 year old because that's the only way I'll get it)
Thanks a million

POP mail service is provided by your ISP. You would need to know the pop3 and SMTP data which your ISP will have on their website support area. I suggest you stick with a web based e mail server tho because a pop account downloads ALL mail directly to your PC before you even look at it. Good way to infect your computer. Keep in mind too, your Mac is NOT impervious to malware.
use a gmail account its free. Enable POP under settings and it has instruction there. go to www.gmail.com and sign up for an account.
in layman's terms... contact your service provider... they will give you the POP, and phoning apple might help to get things going... try mac forums, and www.apple.com .
