Is this obama's way of bankrupting another business with his Marxist-Communist econ plans?

Liberals despise individual prosperity, private property ownership, and the family. Private property and individual wealth is integral to individualism, and the enemy of the liberal. Liberals believe that wealth is static - anyone who makes money must be stealing it from someone else. Liberals dream of a return to a centralized, 1940's urban environment. We all ride the bus from a small, dirty, big city apartment to an 8-5 union job. Yet, the liberal typically chooses a career which produces nothing of value - lawyer, bureaucrat, "activist", etc. - and uses government to extract the wealth of others.

How can raising taxes on businesses to the highest rate in the industrialized world do anything but hurt all businesses? Anybody notice that when taxes on business go up - those businesses and their jobs go overseas. Obama's plan for keeping high taxes from driving jobs out of the country is - more taxes!

Jeez give it a rest already. The governments been trying to get people to quit smoking for years and the damn tax has been going up for years as well. Warning labels have gotten stronger also. No matter who was in office. When I was kid cigarettes had no warning label on them and they were relatively cheap and for pretty much all of my adult life there has been a tax on them. New York State just raised theirs two or three times in the last couple of years. That ain't a Federal tax either. For all this talk of tax this and that I suggest everyone start looking at their local government's taxes:state, local, property, alcohol, school, sales, tobacco just to name a few. I assure you they all went up. I don't see anyone burning torches and carrying pitchforks to the state capitols. For the record I have yet to see anyone produce one redeeming quality or benefit that can be derived from cigarettes. Lung cancer, emphysema and heart disease don't count. However I'm sure the leading cancer drug companies are lobbying hard against any kind of tax. They do need customers for their expensive relatively ineffective treatments after all. Tobacco companies need new customers to replace the one's they're killing also. For the record my mother died from a heart attack. She smoked. My aunt her sister died of lung cancer and she smoked. My aunts words were "If you don't smoke don't start and if you do quit." BTW radiation and chemo didn't work expensive but ineffective. Quitting was cheaper.

Why would you want to own and control a company that has no customers? If the motive is to stop people from smoking, the the object is also to destroy, not own, the tobacco companies. The anti-smoking Nazis have been around since before you were born. It didn't start with Obama. Is this another way of trying to say you don't like Obama?

well, it's a tax that is counter intuitive. It will cause people to quit, which will make for a net loss in the revenue of it. Some will say that the health care industry will be helped because less people are smoking... I've been smoking for 20 years... I get sick, maybe once every 2 to 3 years... I'm going to quit now, because I won't have any part of an Obama middle class tax increase.

Most important of all, WE DO NOT WANT A GOVERNMENT WITH PELOSI, REID, OBAMA, AND BIDEN CONTROLLING OUR COUNTRY. No thanks to SOCIALISM!!!!!!!!!! With socialism we are going to lose our freedom and freedom of speech, higher taxes, stagnant economy for a long long time (think Europe), high unemployment, corporations will go abroad, foreign investors will go elsewhere....
