Question: So for english, I have to write a thesis statement. And I am completely blanking. Can someone please try to explain or give me an example what I should do? :) So the topic is: 'Discuss the reasons why this narrative perspective has been used to convey the moral or message of the story.' So basically I have to write this essay about why the author has chosen to use 'Bruno' to narrate the story. If someone could help me, that would be great!

Hi Isy, Analytical For Boy In The Striped Pyjamas How has “The boy in the striped pyjamas” helped shape your understanding of belonging? Perceptions and ideas of belonging, or of not belonging, vary. These perceptions are shaped within personal, cultural, historical and social contexts. A sense of belonging can emerge from the connections made with people, places, groups, communities and the larger world. People may consider aspects of belonging in terms of experiences and notions of identity, relationships, acceptance and understanding. Through Boyne’s novel, The boy in the striped pyjamas it reveals how belonging can enrich our identity and relationships. This would subsequently portray how acceptance and understanding may be obtained through the enrichment of ones identity. Make an outline Like... 1: A. B. C. 2. A. B. C. 3. A. B. C. And so on to 5 or 6. That can help you get started. The numbers is the main idea for the paragraph, and ABC support.

OK so think about what you want to get across - are you going to go straight in with your opinion on Father? Do you want to introduce the story?? You could start with a quote from the book, that always goes down well. Or, if you're really stuck, leave the introduction and launch straight into the second paragraph. Sometimes its easier to do an intro after the rest is done - that way you know what you want to say as you've already done the bulk of it!! Good luck! x

Well. I dont rather recognize the query however I could say In this paper, I will probably be evaluating The Boy within the Striped Pajamas with the ebook Night via Elie Weasel if you're doing a evaluate/distinction paper. If you're writing a record at the film, I could say "In this paper, I will probably be discussing the tragic tale of the Boy within the Stripped Pajamas". Your thesis is your principal factor so simply give an explanation for what your going to put in writing within the paper, except you're explaining the film, then your Thesis could be your rationalization of the film.

'The story of a young boy Bruno, son of an SS Officer in WW2, is a poignant story of childhood innocence, who befriends a Jewish boy trapped in the extermination camp of Auschwitz-Birkenau. Does the use of the hero as narrator, make for a more powerful or thought provoking story?' http://www.enotes.com/the-boy-in-the-str... *I'm not sure if this covers what you want, simply because the topic you state is at slight odds with your question as to 'why Bruno'. However, I hope it gives you an idea as to what is needed. Remember that a Thesis needs to be provable or refutable, so the wording content will depend on the thrust of your essay.

A thesis statement should be a short summary of your main idea or theory in your paper. For example, if you were writing a paper about how Christian Education is stuck in the past, and needs to be modernized, bringing in the best of today's teaching methods, you might have a thesis statement like this: "Christian Education needs to incorporate modern state-of-the art teaching methods to avoid being left behind in the 21st century." Of if your paper were about the best curriculum for a good Christian Education your thesis statement might be something like this: "The A, B, C's of the best Christian Education today is a curriculum of history, philosophy and bible studies." I would recommend you review your paper or the ideas you plan to put in your paper and then try to formulate a summary of what the paper is about for your brother, sister, parents or grandparents -- tell them what your paper is about in 30 seconds or less. If it makes sense to them from your brief description, there you have it -- that's your thesis statement. Good luck.
